Scholarships facilitate training of more palliative care professionals in Southern California
The CSU Institute for Palliative Care is announcing that $25,000 in scholarships for palliative care education is available to Southern California nurses, social workers, and other working professionals. The application deadline is midnight on Monday, November 28, 2016.
The Institute extends an invitation to nurses, social workers, and others working and living in Southern California to submit an online application.
The generosity of Donald and Darlene Marcos Shiley Scholarships is providing this support, to strengthen the delivery of palliative care services to patients and the organization for which they work.
“The best way to help make palliative care accessible to everyone is to continue to educate our current and future workforce. That’s why the Institute is so grateful to Donald and Darlene Marcos Shiley Scholarships for their continued support of healthcare professionals in Southern California,” stated Helen McNeal, executive director of the CSU Institute for Palliative Care.
Applicants are asked to compose an essay describing why they need this education, how they will use it to improve the care delivered to the people they serve, and provide a letter from their supervisor or manager indicating their support.
Awards fund tuition for coursework to be completed in 2017.
