As Hospice Giving Foundation (HGF) celebrates their 20th anniversary, they look forward to a future of long-term support of dignified and quality end-of-life care. Since 1997, the Foundation has awarded grants totaling more than $24 million to qualified 501(c)(3) organizations providing end-of-life services in Monterey and San Benito Counties. HGF also conducts community outreach and provides professional and public educational programs on end-of-life care issues.
This June 24, 2017, HGF will host a symposium “Understanding the End-of-Life Option Act (EoLOA)” for healthcare providers and others interested in learning more about how the EoLOA impacts them. This day-long event features opening remarks from invited speaker and co-author of the legislation, Senator Bill Monning, as well as presentations from clinicians and end-of-life care professionals. Dr. Lael Duncan, Coalition of Compassionate Care of California’s Medical Director, will offer a review of the legislation and how it impacts advance care planning conversations. Hospice Giving Foundation has worked with CCCC for the past several years, both as a member organization and as a local coalition contact. We’re grateful for the work they do in the state of California to promote quality, compassionate care for the seriously ill. Learn more about them and their mission at www.hospicegiving.org.
