I can’t tell you how invigorated and inspired I felt after the CCCC conference.” – Louise Dowd, RN, 2022 Summit Attendee

Amazing! Invaluable! Open and inviting! Phenomenal! I so missed this conference! So good to be back together again in person! It was great to hear all these wonderful comments from this year’s attendees. It’s what we strive for when we’re planning our Annual Summit. This year felt extra special. It truly was so good to be back together in person. We hope everyone walked away with something to re-energize them in this important work of making conversations about serious illness a part of everyday life and palliative care a part of everyday health care wherever people receive care. That is our mission.

From the opening kickoff on May 4th at the beautiful Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport with Barbara Jones, PhD, MSW, Professor and Associate Dean for Health Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin Steve Hicks School of Social Work speaking about Reimagining the Future of Health Care: Leveraging teams and value to lead with Compassion to the final session with John Chuck, MD, family physician, wellness coach, author, and Clinical Professor of Family Medicine at California Northstate University College School of Medicine on May 5th who focused on a prescription for reclaiming hope, joy, and meaning during turbulent times, we were all inspired and filled with hope.  All the speakers inspired us to truly reimagine the future of health care by looking at how we can build better systems to deliver what matters most to our patients without forgetting the importance of our own resilience and healing. From our opening keynote and 20 breakouts to 12 interactive discussions, the focus was on conversations around managing burnout, improving prognostication, moving palliative care upstream, reaching underserved communities, evaluating our programs, and reconnecting with our joy and meaning as we strive to improve care for the seriously ill of all ages and their families.

We enjoyed numerous opportunities to reconnect, from our daily networking lunches and our annual Poster Session and Reception to impromptu conversations in the registration area and hallways with friends and colleagues from across California and around the country.

We’d like to thank all our speakers, sponsors, and our many attendees for making the 14th Annual Palliative Care Summit such an amazing event. If you weren’t able to join us this year, keep your eyes out for information on the 15th Annual Palliative Care Summit which is being planned for a Southern California location in Spring of 2023. We hope to see you there!

Thank you to our 14th Annual Palliative Care Summit sponsors!  The Summit wouldn’t be as successful without these sponsors, so thank you!
