Esther Luo is a board-certified palliative care physician at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara, where she serves as physician lead for the Outpatient Palliative Care Program and Home Health Specialty Palliative Care. She previously served as the Life Care Planning (advance care planning) physician lead, leading system-level efforts to integrate ACP into clinical workflows. She specializes in advance care planning, serious illness communication, and culturally responsive end-of-life care. Dr. Luo is an associate professor in the Institute of Medical Education at Kaiser Permanente and actively teaches residents. She has presented at regional, national, and international conferences, including the Coalition for Compassionate Care Summit, the Pacific Stroke Conference, and international ELNEC training programs.
