Gary Buckholz, MD, HMDC, FAAHPM

Gary Buckholz has a history of advancing Palliative Medicine in the Graduate Medical Education space through having led a large HPM fellowship training program, serving on key committees for the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, and the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is now faculty at UC San Diego’s Center for Compassionate Communication within the Sanford Institute for Empathy and Compassion and enjoys teaching compassion in healthcare through the arts and humanities lens.
