Yarin Ascencio is Health Program Manager II with the California Department of Aging, Office of the Long-Term Care Patient Representative. In this role, she oversees implementation of the statutory process supporting interdisciplinary medical decision-making for unrepresented residents in SNFs and ICFs. She holds a Master of Social Work with a concentration in health and aging. She also provides statewide training, technical assistance, and public presentations to facility staff, administrators, and interdisciplinary teams on statutory requirements and resident-centered care practices.
