Yarin Ascencio is a Health Program Manager II for the California Department of Aging, Office of the Long-Term Care Patient Representative. In this role, she oversees the implementation of the statutory process for supporting interdisciplinary medical decision-making for unrepresented residents in SNFs/ICFs. Ms. Ascencio holds an MSW with a concentration on health and aging. She regularly provides statewide training, technical assistance, and public presentations to facility staff, administrators, and interdisciplinary teams on the statutory requirements and ethical care practices.
