Together with our partners, the Coalition for Compassionate Care of California (CCCC) is shaping the future of palliative care at the local, state and national level.

As the voice of palliative care in California, CCCC continuously incubates and disseminates models and ideas to improve access to quality care for all people.

Through advocacy, education and resource development, CCCC is working to ensure that organizations and communities have the information, knowledge and tools to create the future of palliative care.

California Advanced Illness Collaborative

In 2016 the Coalition for Compassionate Care of California (CCCC) and Blue Shield of California convened individuals with expertise in palliative care, payment and policy advocacy, and health services research to form the “California Advanced Illness Collaborative” (CAIC). The mission of the CAIC is to improve the quality of care delivered to Californians with advanced illness, with an initial strategy of increasing access to palliative care. Learn more about the CAIC and their current effort to create and pilot test Consensus Standards For Community-Based Palliative Care.

Pediatric Palliative Care

Pediatric palliative care advocacy and educationOver the last decade, the Children’s Hospice & Palliative Care Coalition (CHPCC), now a division of CCCC, has blazed a new, better path for California children in medical crisis and emerged as an award-winning advocate and nationally recognized leader for socially responsible healthcare.

As part of this effort, CCCC has formed the California Pediatric Palliative Care (PPC) Collaborative. The PPC serves as a forum for all stakeholders in Pediatric Palliative Care in CA to share ideas, experiences, and research, as well as brainstorm new ways to collaborate and move the field forward. We facilitate conversation and communication statewide through a listserv and quarterly calls led by CCCC. An in-person annual meeting of the Collaborative takes place at CCCC’s Annual Summit each year in the spring.
