Katherine Ast, MSW, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker and specialist in quality and performance measure development. She was the staff lead for AAHPM and HPNA's “Measuring What Matters" initiative, directed the CMS-funded Palliative Care Measures Project specified and tested two new patient-reported outcome performance measures (PRO-PMs), and provides strategic direction for AAHPM in the areas of quality measurement and the national quality landscape. Ms. Ast is pursuing her PhD in social work, focusing on implementing PRO-PMs in practice, incorporating the inter-disciplinary team into medical care, extending healthcare into the community, and improving the lives of our most vulnerable populations.

Rebecca Anhang Price, PhD

RAND Corporation

Rebecca Anhang Price, PhD is a Senior Policy Researcher at RAND Corporation. Her work focuses on developing measures of health care quality and using them to evaluate new initiatives. Since 2014, Dr. Anhang Price has served as principal investigator of a CMS project to nationally implement the CAHPS Hospice Survey, overseeing scoring and public reporting of survey measure scores. Previously, she led contracts to develop the CAHPS Hospice Survey, and to support CMS’ implementation of the CAHPS for ACOs and CAHPS for PQRS and MIPS Surveys. She is currently leading efforts funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality and the Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation to develop surveys that assess care experiences at the end of life, and among those with serious illness.
